TUFEPRO® offers engineering solution of active fire prevention in a single and double piping traffic systems by combining several types of fire extinguishing based on water (system of water mist, system of water screens, sprinkler fire-extinguishing system) in one complete fire-extinguishing technical system called Stationary Active Fire-extinguishing Device (SAFED) designed to prevent:

  • fire extension with parallel cooling of tunnel walls, air flow in the tunnel pipe of 8m/s even in the event of a failure of all venting systems in a tunnel with the use of water with the pressure of 0.5 – 3 MPa as a fire-extinguishing medium
  • preventing the fire transfer to more fire-extinguishing sections
  • decreasing the smoke production for the possibility of tunnel evacuation and intervention by an integrated rescue system
  • eliminating the fire in tunnel connection points

The purpose of the TUFEPRO® solution in the underground traffic systems is ensuring control over the fire including:

  • control of its extension,
  • control of its thermal performance,
  • reducing the heat release speed.

TUFEPRO® methods for efficient intervention of integrated rescue services (Fire-extinguishing and Rescue Corps):

  • reducing the ambient temperature in the way of flow from the point of the fire,
  • reducing the ambient temperature against the way of flow from the fire point,
  • reducing radiant heat through a heat shield provided by the water mist.
